Kymijoki River is Finland’s southernmost salmon river; it flows from Lake Päijänne into the eastern Gulf of Finland. Kymijoki River is located at a distance of just 90 minutes by car from Helsinki. This river is renown for its large salmon and sea trout. The average weight of salmon caught is in excess of 6 kilos and annually fish weighing close to 20 kilos are caught. Fishing on Kymijoki River has been made as pleasant as possible with lean-tos and casting jetties being provided along the riverside.
